Dalila had lived a comfortable life as the wife of one of the city’s captains, but was left to fend for herself and their children when her dear husband died. The Caliph’s council, of which her husband was a part, did not think it necessary to continue paying her ,her husband’s pension. Instead, they ignored her, leaving her vulnerable and destitute.  

But she had two young mouths to feed and so she spent many years working where she could and raising her two children, until eventually she was too old and sick to work.

The government are rude to her and she has been let down by the state, they weren't going to let her see a penny of her money.  

 

But never underestimate a woman, especially an old woman, and a wily one at that. She would show them, and she would make sure they knew it was her!  

 

This is a story of wit, cunning, skills and trickery .
